Weather sucks… off to the studio

So the weather has been a bitch for a couple of days now… no sunshine, only grey’n cold rainy days. Not exactly what you’d expect in the middle of summer, right? Ah well, good enough when you’re kinda busy.

Here’s a random, not car related post since I didn’t have much time these days… I was having a marathon weekend in the studio with my band, recording 11 songs in only 2 days. I’m very pleased with the outcome even though there’s still the vocals missing and the mixing to be done! I didn’t exactly plan to take photos, so here’s a few that I managed to grab anyway, just for the sake of it.

Quick feature >> Tom’s Mk4 R32

I can’t remember when I got to know Tom, even if it’s not that long ago…probably due to my miserable memory. But one thing’s for sure… you will hardly meet him without a camera in his hands! Be it a car meeting, hanging out with friends or any other event, he’s there to capture the light and so he does with his very cool, own style (check out his site and blog here)! Now I thought that it’d be nice to turn the tide and have him and his car in front of the camera. After all, this Mk4 R32 is one fine example of its kind!

On the web >> Lundgren Racing

This morning, I found a pretty cool picture of a drifting Saab on the net. So I tried to find out more about it and ended up on the site of Lundgren Racing. I couldn’t find out a whole lot about these guys. They are from Sweden and they like to build crazy swedish drift/track cars…should be reason enough to have a closer look! Here are some pics of two of their cars, the first being a heavily modified Volvo 850 T5 which has almost every oem bodypanel replaced by carbonfibre. If I’m not mistaken, it says that it develops 406rwhp!

The seond one is not less impressive. It’s a Saab 9-3 Sportwagon which has equally impressive bodywork and overall build quality. There’s not much more info about this car on the site! The thing that is beyond my understanding though is the choice of the wheels for both cars… If you got the $$ to build such a car, do you really need the sponsorship (since that’s the only reason I can imagine to put these wheels on) of this wheel manufacturer to ruin the whole look of the car? Anyway, that’s my personal taste only ^^ Now for the pics.

Visit their site Lundgren Racing for more info and pics!

Video >> Minami Madness

Saw this video just now and had to repost it even though it must have been posted on a zillion blogs already. Talking about sick drift initiation!

Quick feature >> Luc’s R34

Today I met some buddies to hang out a bit, have a little car-talk and just have a good time. I also took the occasion to take some pics of Luc’s beastly R34 GTR. It’s one hell of a car with tons of first class upgrades such as Stoptech brake setup, Volk Te37 Top Secret wheels, HKS GT-SS turbos, HKS F-Con V Pro ECU, Tein coilovers with EDFC… only to name a few! Here’s how this turned out.

On the web >> Camaro a bit different

So, there I am browsing the net and becoming a bit bored since I don’t really know what I should look out for… until I find this Camaro. At first, well, it looks not that special but there’s more to this cool muscle car than one would think on first sight.

As far as I could find out by reading through the build thread, this car is located in Finland… now it becomes all more clear I guess. Finland and crazy cars go pretty well together don’t they? :) In fact, the owner took a ’78 Camaro and retro-converted it into a ’70 Camaro, which in my opinion looks a thousand times better! He fitted a pre-fabricated front-end and did some amazing metal-work on the rear, even converting the rear window to look like the ’70s model!

The engine is a V8 LS3 developing a good 500hp / 660 Nm and as if that wasn’t enough, this car was purposely build to drift.. yes, drift!!! And it does so with succes, taking wins in the Finish Pro Drifting Association. Wicked, right?

The whole thread can be found here . Enjoy!

Quick feature >> Mich’s Miata

Yesterday, Mich called me to ask if I wanted to shoot his little roadster with the new rims. Of course, I wanted to do this, so today, we were out there looking for a suitable spot. Two hours later, we were done and all the shots were in the box. I love this NA. Looks awesome with these new golden wheels…unfortunately, I don’t remember the brand. Size is 8×15″ et 0 with 195/45/15 rubber. KW coilovers are taking care of the low stance.
